L.A. Incubatormember Camille Hoheb, author and international spa advisor, waspublished inSeptember's edition ofMassage Therapy. The article, entitled "Surviving a Worst-case Scenario," focuses on how preparation and planning are two important ingredients for staying in business when or if a disaster strikes. She interviewed and featuredfellow Incubator member Marie Trudeau, certified business counselor with W.E. Davis Insurance Company, in Columbus, Ohio.
L.A. Incubator member Nicole Simons, founder of Fortunuts , was profiled in Women in Business. The article describes how Fortunuts, specialty flavored walnuts in a Chinese take-out box that includes individual fortunes, grew from her childhood love for one of her mom's recipes. L.A. Incubator member Lisa Gache of Beverly Hills Manners was featured on CoolMom.com in a segment highlighting Happy Manners. Lisa points out that while our society is increasingly accepting of bad manners, we can positively influence our young ones by teaching them good manners at an early age. Seattle Incubator member Sue Lundquist, owner of I'm Thankful and author of the I'm Thankful Journal , has been featured in a wide variety of press outlets recently. Just a few highlights include: Interview on Seattle's KING 5 TV with Eric Wilkinson on August 27, an interview on Chat with Women Radio (channel 1150am) on July 16, and the Seattle Seahawk & Childhaven 2008 "Tackle Child Abuse" fundraising auction where the I'm Thankful Journal will be the golden ticket item to raise $15,000 for the crisis nursery center. Sue will be a presenter at the event.
NYC Incubator member Christine Janssen, founder and president of denken Research & Consulting, was asked to submit a short article to BusinessWeek regarding "staying entrepreneurial" in challenging times as part of a special "workplace issues" issue. Christine's piece was selected and is currently featured on BusinessWeek Online.
Northern NJ Incubator member Andrea Stein, founder of Girl Mogul, is featured on both Eco Childs Play and CoolMom Picks' Back to School Guide for her brand's unique messages. Eco Childs Play is also running a special T-shirt contest for her brand.
Detroit Incubator member Stephanie Vozza, founder and president of The Organized Parent , had two of her Closet Clothing Organizers featured on "The Today Show" in a segment called Back-to-School Sanity Savers with Dr. Michele Borba, which aired on August 28. A link to The Organized Parent was posted on Dr. Borba's blog on iVillage.com along with a video clip of the segment.
Toronto Incubator member Kelly Fallis, home stylist and founder of The Remote Stylist, received press in the Philadelphia Daily News, where she talked about how wallpaper is making a comeback in the decorating world. She highlights which textures and fabrics are getting the most play in terms of wall coverings as many people are looking for something other than paint.
Portland, OR, Incubator Member Morgan Siler, co-founder of iHeartSingleParents.com, was interviewed for Koin 6 News along with her businesspartner, Clare Bean.They also received news coverage intheOregonianand in a three-part series for First Wives Worldabout being single mom entrepreneurs.
NYC Incubator member Jessi Walter, founder of Cupcake Kids!, is featured in a special on Bloomberg TV about leaving Wall Street and doing a 180 degree turnabout to launch her own company, Cupcake Kids! Jessi's company specializes in cooking events for kids of all ages in New York City. This segment was also featured in a recent Bloomberg article.
Denver Incubator member Jolene Picone, founder of Veil Trends, was selected by Brides.com to have one of her specialty hair pins showcased in its "Get This Look" section.
